| The
MRF State Representative Program
Through the Motorcycle Riders Foundation State Representative
Program, local motorcyclists are kept up to date on the MRF's legislative
and training agendas. The MRF State Rep program allows information
to pass quickly to the State Motorcyclists' Rights Organizations,
as well as allowing information to reach the MRF concerning individual
states.
Below is a directory of the MRF's
State Representatives, including their contact information. The
men and women involved in the MRF's State Rep Program are dedicated
volunteers from the membership ranks who are willing to give their
time and energy to build, maintain and enhance the relationship between
the MRF and all motorcyclists within their states. They must work
closely with the State Motorcyclists' Rights Organizations, attending
their meetings and events, keeping the SMROs abreast of national issues,
international issues, and issues affecting motorcylists in other states.
MRF State Reps promote the MRF by all possible
means, such as making presentations to SMROs and other groups. Writing
articles for newspapers and newsletters, membership recruiting,
and speaking to individual motorcyclists are other examples of promoting
the MRF.
Some states do not have an MRF State Rep at this time.
If you are interested in applying for the position, some of the requirements
for appointment are:
- You must be a member of the MRF, and have been
a member for at least one year prior to appointment.
- You must have the ability to be contacted via
telephone, and computer availability with Internet access is recommended.
- You must possess the ability to relay information
to your State Motorcyclists' Rights Organization(s), as well as
keep the MRF informed regarding your state's events and concerns.
To become an MRF State Representative, candidates
must submit two things to the Director of State Representative Program:
(1) An MRF State Representative application, obtained from the Director
of State Representative Program. (2) A written endorsement from
your State Motorcylists' Rights Organization. If your state has more
than one SMRO, an endorsement must be obtained from all SMROs in your
state.
MRF Assistant State Reps are appointed by the individual
State Reps on an as-needed basis. Contact your MRF State Rep if you
are interested in helping as an Assistant Rep.
