MRF Proposal to MSF Board of Trustees The MSF should create two advisory positions on the MSF Board of Trustees to be filled by representatives of the motorcyclists' rights organization (MRO) community. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STATE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY ADMINISTRATORS (SMSA) QUESTIONS FOR MOTORCYCLE SAFETY FOUNDATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES PRESENTED AT MARCH 17, 2004 MEETING What is your strategic plan for rider education and how do current state program administrators fit within your plan? What are your plans to accomplish your objectives? Who do you see as your key stakeholders and how do they fit in with your objectives? How do you see SMSA fitting into your strategic plans? What are your long-term goals for state-funded rider education programs? What are your long-term goals for bidding on contracts for state-funded programs? Does the MSF intend to continue approaching state legislatures and/or legislators without consulting the state administrator? Are you aware that there is a perception that if a State Administrator approaches the MSF with a problem, then that state would become vulnerable to MSF bidding on the contract? Is that a correct perception? Is there any concern about the lack of trust that exists between many State Administrators and the MSF? Why doesn't MSF communicate with all state programs? Why is everything so secretive with the MSF nowadays? When will MSF be rejoining SMSA and/or working in partnership with them again? When is the MSF going to come to SMSA and say "we have identified a problem and would like to work with you on it" rather than "the funding mechanism for Rider Ed is broken" and we are here to take over your program? Has the MSF changed its basic philosophy from teaching critical skills to selling bikes? Is the past reputation of the Foundation being used as the launch platform for marketing? |
