#03NR05 - MRF 2003 Conference Registration Available on Website

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation hosts three annual conferences, designed to educate and motivate those in the motorcyclists' rights community. These conferences are a fantastic learning opportunity and a great chance to meet other people who are as passionate about motorcyclists' rights as you are. More importantly, however, these conferences give you an opportunity to voice your opinion and help the MRF continue to develop its strategies to protect your rights! You can now visit the MRF website at www.mrf.org/events.php for details about the MRF's 2003 conference lineup.

BEAST of the East 2003 will be held in Portland, Maine from May 2-4. Hopefully the weather will break on the east coast so lots of people will be able to ride to the conference. United Bikers of Maine is hosting this event, and they have worked really hard to make it one of the best. It promises, as always, to offer some interesting speakers, seminars and panel discussions. A tentative schedule shows there will be workshops on topics such as getting things done administratively and effective public relations. There will be some workshops that deal with issues extremely important to most on the east coast, if not the entire country - issues like loud pipes and insurance.

BEST of the West 2003 will be held in Denver, Colorado from June 20-22 and is hosted by ABATE of Colorado. I know there will be a lot of people riding to this conference in my home state in June. The tentative speaker lineup is impressive and there will be some seminars presented for the first time at this event. Seminar topics are expected to include web-based public relations, advanced lobbying for beginners, and how to respond to the media. In addition, Slider Gilmore will be presenting his two-wheeled trauma program. If you have never had the opportunity to see and hear Slider, this is a MUST for your calendar.

The MRF is once again this year offering the charter group rate: $100 registration fee per chapter/per conference for unlimited attendees for BEAST of the East and BEST of the West. (This rate does not include the banquet, which must be paid for separately. Banquet cost is $25 per person.) Please visit the MRF website for further details regarding individual and group conference registration.

The Meeting of the Minds is the MRF's premier leadership conference that boasts an audience from across the nation and around the world. The 19th Annual Meeting of the Minds will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin from September 18-21, 2003 and is hosted by ABATE of Wisconsin. What a great time of the year to ride to Green Bay! In addition to the numerous workshops presented, one of the highlights of the Meeting of the Minds has always been the panel discussions regarding hot federal legislative topics, and this year will be no exception.

In light of all the federal legislative activity for motorcyclists' rights lined up for 2003, we hope to see record attendance at the MRF's 2003 leadership conferences. We need your help, so that we can continue to protect your rights and freedoms! Start planning now - get your vacations scheduled, mark the routes on your maps, and think about all those great places you will find along the way. And be sure to visit the MRF website at www.mrf.org/events.php for conference registration and hotel reservation information.
